Dobell is looking for a menswear designer to join our leading online menswear stores. This is a full time position with large potential for growth.

Here’s what you’ll be working on:

  • You will work closely with the Directors, HOD and design team on the direction and content for the seasonal collections of all in-house brands.
  • Identifying key trends, and compiling mood boards, fabric direction boards, and colour story boards across a variety of product areas. Constantly identifying and developing new product areas the company can expand into.
  • Present mood boards and designs to the HOD and ready for product sign-off.
  • Organising and attending Quality and Technical fit sessions.
  • Produce detailed design tech packs, including all information needed by overseas manufacturers to develop samples. Manage the entire design process from initial proto sample stage, all the way through to delivery sample stage for your categories.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all our current suppliers and manufacturers, as well as sourcing new manufacturers when required.
  • Work within the critical path and liaising with the relevant areas of the business to keep everyone updated on the progress of all styles.

More About You:

Experience required:

  • relevant design experience across multiproduct, with a strong, commercial handwriting of at least two years. A keen interest in Tailoring would also be favourable.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop packages.
  • Good knowledge of fabrics and fabric development, and the ability to execute this knowledge to produce high quality, commercial garments.
  • Good knowledge of garment construction.
  • Extremely well organised, and confident communicator. Able to work to tight-deadlines, and maintain relationships with both internal teams and external manufacturers.
