Prom night is one of the biggest celebrations you’ll attend in your lifetime, and getting the right outfit for the event is a must, if you’re going to catch the eye of your date. If you’re unsure what outfit to choose, we’ve created a list of our favourite prom options below, proving you don’t need to spend big for a strong look.
Once purely a US tradition, high school Prom Nights have become increasingly popular across the UK in the last decade. In fact today more than 85% of British schools hold a Prom, so the idea of a formal party to celebrate the end of secondary school or key exams is fast becoming the norm. The cheesy school discos of yesteryear have had a serious makeover!
The Prom provides a great opportunity for you and your friends to enjoy a big party, and get really dressed up for the occasion. Our first piece of advice is to stay calm and don’t panic too much about what to wear. There will be a real mix of outfits, with some schools going down the truly formal route, and others leaving the dress code more relaxed and optional. If your invite states ‘Black Tie optional’ this means you could wear a plain dark suit as an alternative to a tuxedo.
